- Plan to keep pets and young kids out of that area during the appointment.

1. I bring in my equipment and take a quick look at the room. 2. We pick the best spot together based on light and access to power. 3. I set up the portable bed and my stool, then position the lighting. 4. I lay down disposable covers and barrier film over the main surfaces, then prepare my sterile tray. 5. I wash or sanitize my hands and put on gloves before touching any tools.
Once the space is ready, we sit down together for your in person consult. This is where we talk about your brow goals and review your health history, then confirm the plan we discussed on the phone.
How is Brow Mapping Done During a Mobile Appointment?
Brow mapping during a mobile appointment is done exactly the same way it would be in a studio. It is careful measuring and marking, with fine adjustments until the shape fits your face.
I use a combination of:
- Your natural brow hair and bone structure
- A fine brow pencil and ruler
- String or calipers for key symmetry points
You sit up so I can see how your features look when you are relaxed and expressive, not just lying flat. We review the outline together in a mirror, and you have the chance to ask for tweaks before any pigment touches your skin.

How Does Numbing Work with Mobile Microblading?
Numbing for mobile microblading is done with a topical cream. It is applied and monitored right where we set up. You stay on the treatment bed while it takes effect.
Here is what you can expect:
- I clean your brow area thoroughly.
- A topical anaesthetic cream is applied over the mapped brows.
- You relax for a short period while the numbing develops.
- I test your comfort before I begin the microblading strokes.
Most people describe the feeling as light scratching or pressure rather than pain. I can pause and add more numbing if you feel sensitive at any point, and I adjust my pace to keep you comfortable.
What Does the Actual Microblading Feel Like?
The microblading itself feels like a series of fine, controlled scratches across the brow area. The sensation is often easier to tolerate somewhere quiet, because you are not on a busy salon floor.
During this part of the appointment:
- You lie back on the portable bed under the ring light.
- I use a hand tool with a tiny row of needles to create hair like strokes.
- I work slowly, checking both shape and colour as we go.
- Pigment is worked into each stroke in passes until the density is right.

How is Hygiene and Safety Handled with Mobile Microblading?
Hygiene and safety for mobile microblading are non negotiable. A home setting never means casual standards.
I am certified in Bloodborne Pathogens and Barbicide COVID 19 training, and I follow defined protocols for every appointment:
- All needles, blades, and pigment rings are single use and opened in front of you.
- I use disposable bed covers, barrier film, and table covers.
- Anything that cannot be fully disinfected is either covered or stays out of the treatment area.
- Sharps and contaminated waste leave with me for proper disposal.
Your part is simple. Keep curious hands and paws out of the treatment area, and do not touch your brows during or right after the session.
What Does Aftercare Look Like When the Artist Leaves?
Aftercare for mobile microblading is the same as in a studio, but you get to start it without travelling anywhere. Before I leave, we review your aftercare instructions in detail.
You receive:
- Written aftercare steps with a day by day breakdown
- Any ointment or cleanser needed for the first phase
- A clear list of “do” and “do not” items for the next days and weeks

How Long Does a Mobile Microblading Appointment Take in Calgary?
A first time mobile microblading appointment usually takes a few hours from arrival to pack up. That window covers your consult and mapping, the numbing, the tattoo work, then the aftercare review.
